A working group on fuel supply in Krasnodar Krai has recommended that district and city authorities deploy Cossacks and volunteers to gas stations to maintain order and manage traffic. These measures have already been introduced in Krymsky District and Anapa.
The group also urged local residents and businesses to "refrain from non-essential travel, including business trips and trips to public events," and to "use public transportation whenever possible."
In Krasnodar, where more than half of the city's gas stations are closed today, people are waiting in line for five to six hours. In early June, Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev blamed the fuel shortage on residents who had rushed to stockpile gasoline.
