The Ya-Grazhdanin (Me-Citizen) project announced its closure on July 23, saying that "now is a time when the project cannot exist in the form it was originally intended to."

"These are extremely difficult and frightening times. There are too many risks and too little room to do things the way we want: openly, honestly, and without constantly looking over our shoulders," the project's statement said.

The Ya-Grazhdanin (Me-Citizen) project was launched in October 2025 by Voronezh student and activist Kirill Derevsky, who stepped down from its leadership in June 2026. Through a Telegram bot, the project helped Russians draft appeals to state authorities, published practical guides, and launched a training course for election observers.
