A protocol was drawn up against Yuri Shevchuk, the DDT Band’s frontman, for discrediting the army. During the concert in Ufa on May 18, he said that the motherland had nothing to do with pleasing the president. This was reported by the musician's producer Radmir Usaev on Instagram* and by the Fontanka Media Outlet.

Musician Yuri Shevchuk was reported for discrediting the army because he had spoken about the president at the concert in Ufa (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation). The DDT Band’s frontman said that the motherland was "a begging grandmother at the train station selling potatoes," rather than pleasing the president. He mentioned the hostilities in Chechnya. After the concert, security officers came to Shevchuk backstage and drew up a protocol.

"The security forces isolated Yuri Yulianovich from the band, not even letting the band’s director pass (by putting up a force barrier of two employees in special forces’ uniform at the entrance to the dressing room). We had a one-hour conversation about the last concert, its focus, and Shevchuk's statements about [the special operation] and Motherland. They even wanted to detain ‘our everything’, but at the last moment they were smart enough to offer Yura signing the protocol," producer Radmir Usaev reported.

In April 2022, the DDT Band’s concert in Tyumen was canceled after their refusal to perform in a building with the letter Z on the facade. Shevchuk had arranged a vote at a concert in Voronezh: he asked the audience who did not support the special operation in Ukraine. After a performance in Kursk, DDT donated 200 thousand rubles to help Donbass refugees who had come to the city.

The Bi-2 Band had to deal with the authorities' pressure. The governor of Penza ordered to remove all banners announcing the band's concert, which is scheduled for May 23. Penza’s residents asked the governor to cancel the event due to the fact that the musicians had spoken out against the special operation and refused to perform in the hall with the letter Z in Omsk.

The organizers of the concert in Omsk used a black cloth to hide a tricolor with a patriotic inscription in the hall, but the management removed the banner. Because of this, the musicians left before the concert.
