Banners with an image of Joseph Stalin on the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War disappeared from the central streets of the capital of the Komi, which was at the billboards of the company "GlavMedia". Posters were made by the local branch of the Communist Party.

After that, some social networking users have posted photos of posters criticizing "congratulations" with May 9. Social activists, historians, politicians were divided in opinion on the matter.

The other day, the new ones appeared instead of the disputed billboards. "Remember your heroes", a poster with a photo of veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a resident of the Republic of Komi Mikhail Halzov.

The site "Echo of Moscow" referring to "Interfax" reported that the posters of Stalin were removed from the streets of Syktyvkar on demand of the Syktyvkar residents.

As the First Secretary of the Communist Party republican committee Vyacheslav Shulepov told «7x7», the vice-mayor of Syktyvkar Valery Kozlov called him and asked to replace the posters. The communists had the same request from the employees of “GlavMedia”. He believes that the initiative to require to replace the banners could appear in the administration of the head and the government of the region.

“He [Valery Kozlov] suggested us to substitute our billboards with others. Posters with Stalin disturb someone, someone falls into a swoon. In general, a large number of our population and the republic consider him the supreme commander, because we got a victory under his leadership. Therefore, it is completely unfair to ignore his name,” Shulepov said.

To the time of writing it was not possible to get comment of Valery Kozlov and head of the press service of the administration of the head and government of Komi.
