The Yakutsk City Hall announced an annual competition for the best mobilization work. Officials will assess which organizations have shown “the highest quality” of sending employees to war and reward them. The corresponding decree was issued by the city hall on October 30.
On October 30, the Yakutsk administration published a resolution on organizing a competition for the best mobilization work. During the contest, local enterprises and the mayor's office divisions will undergo inspections.
The competition will be held by the city officials and employees of the military enlistment office. They will determine which organizations have demonstrated “the highest quality” in sending mobilized recruits to war and in maintaining records of equipment that could potentially be used by the army.
The winners will receive awards, certificates of appreciation and “valuable gifts”. The competition is planned to be held annually.
Vladimir Putin declared mobilization in Russia on September 21, 2022. Since its beginning, residents of the Yakutia region have been complaining about illegal deployment of fathers with many children to the front. The head of the republic, Aisen Nikolaev, admitted that some men were mobilized “by mistake”. The region witnessed large-scale demonstrations against the mobilization.
In October 2023, the SakhaDay media outlet reported that within one month employees of the Yakut military enlistment offices filed 100 claims against the state for working overtime during mobilization. All plaintiffs demanded payment of their overdue wages. One of the applications was submitted by the Yakutsk military commissar Evgeny Krupenkov.
According to the BBC News Russian and Mediazona, 332 residents of the republic died in the war in Ukraine.
