According to a local activist who spoke to 7x7, pickup artists Yegor Sheremetiev and Sergei Rozanov from Novosibirsk have been accused of filming intimate videos with young women without their consent and posting them on Telegram channels. It is alleged that they sold some of these videos to their pickup students. Activists are now searching for the affected women in order to report the pickup artists to the police.
According to a member of the "Against Pickupers" Telegram channel who spoke to 7x7, Yegor Sheremetiev and Sergei Rozanov from Novosibirsk are making business on pickup classes. They sell video "cases" of their dating and sexual encounters with women. The activist claims that the women were filmed without their consent on a hidden camera. Some of the footage was posted on Telegram channels and publicly discussed.
The activist argues that this behavior is not harmless and is far from being about personal growth, as the men claim. Instead, they are teaching how to undermine women's self-esteem to make them easier to control and seduce.
Activists are now seeking to locate the affected women so that they can go to the police and provide evidence to move the case forward. However, the pickup artists have recorded a video admitting to hidden videotaping and believe that the activists will not be able to find the women due to their faces being obscured.
Sheremetiev and Rozanov run a website to sell courses on pickup and seduction of women, with Sheremetiev positioning himself as a man who is "liked by almost all women." As stated on the website, they will not help the "poor," "nerds," and "offended.” The site offers individual counseling and training sessions in various cities, with the cost of discs containing their recommendations up to 10,000 rubles ($122).
