The Commission on Minors' Affairs has withdrawn its claim to restrict the parental rights of Aleksei Moskalyov. This was reported by Vesti Tula on April 19.

The Commission has no intention of limiting the parental rights of either Alexei Moskalyov or Olga Sitchikhina. The head of the Commission, Svetlana Davydova, has filed a petition in court to withdraw the lawsuit.

Davydova explains that the lawsuit was initially intended to protect the girl's interests, including her right to education. However, since Masha's mother took her out of the orphanage, the reasons for the lawsuit are no longer relevant. Davydova confirms that Masha and her mother have a positive relationship.

The Commission's claim to restrict Alexei Moskalyov's parental rights came after he was detained by police on March 1st, and Masha was taken to a shelter. Moskalyov escaped from house arrest on April 28th and was detained in Minsk on March 31st. Masha's mother took her home from the orphanage on April 6th.

On April 19th, Moskalyov's lawyers stated that their client had not been in contact with them since his detention in Minsk. Neither the Russian nor Belarusian Federal Penitentiary Services responded to inquiries from human rights activists about Moskalyov's whereabouts.
