In his opinion, feminists in Russia go against traditional values and the demographic policy of the country. Matveichev, who is the deputy chairman of the Committee on Information Policy, claims that feminists are agents of the West and promote such things as divorce, childlessness, and abortion.
Matveichev also stated that feminists in the West are against Putin and Russia and support war, and feminists in Ukraine believe that true feminism is about serving alongside men in fighting against Russia.
The bill is currently under review by a commission investigating foreign states' interference in Russia's internal affairs.
It is worth noting that Oleg Matveichev is known for his extreme statements and initiatives. In January 2022, he made violent remarks against businessmen calling for the resignation of Nursultan Nazarbayev, stating that they “should be looted, their wives should be raped, and a stick for selfies should be shoved up their asses.” Matveichev has also called NATO "a cancerous tumor on the body of the planet." In February 2023, it was revealed by Alexei Navalny supporters that Matveichev’s daughter lives in Switzerland.
