The website of Semyon Kochkin, former head of Navalny's Chuvash headquarters*, has been banned. On his website, he has been publishing the names of the soldiers from Chuvashia killed in Ukraine, commenting on elections in the region, the mobilization, and other events. The Roskomsvoboda telegram channel reported about the blocking on February 3.
The website became unavailable on February 1 when "unknown registry" stopped access to it. Semyon Kochkin, the former head of Navalny's Chuvash headquarters,* used his website to inform about soldiers from Chuvashia who had died in Ukraine. He also commented on elections, mobilization, and other events in the region. The site had a link for donations.
After Alexei Navalny's headquarters* were down, Kochkin started a telegram channel that he called “Serditaya Chuvashiya,” where he was informing about anti-war initiatives and collecting funds to pay fines for activists. In 2022, the court fined him twice for his anti-war posts and YouTube videos where he was advising people not to go to war. On October 21, he was declared a foreign agent.
Journalists and activists in several regions run similar lists. In the Belgorod region, the telegram channel “Ashes” has informed about 232 men who have lost their lives. The "People of Baikal" media does the same job informing about soldiers from Buryatia and the Irkutsk region.
In June 2022, the court demanded the list of dead soldiers be removed from the Pskov portal 60.RU. The ruling claimed that "the losses of the personnel" in the special operation revealed by the portal were a state secret and classified information.
