Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs issued a warning to the deputy of the State Duma from Komi, Oleg Mikhailov, about the inadmissibility of violating the law. They issued it on the eve of the deputy's meeting with the residents of Ezhva, who are protesting against the construction of a waste sorting plant. Mikhailov informed 7x7 about this.

Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed Oleg Mikhailov that his actions could "provoke antisocial behavior and create conflict situations." The deputy received such a warning after announcing a meeting with the residents of Ezhva, who are protesting against the construction of a waste sorting plant. In a conversation with 7x7, Mikhailov called the police’s actions “a standard procedure.”

The meeting of the deputy and residents should take place at 6 p. m. on December 18. At the same time, after Mikhailov's announcement, his opponent and the Head of the Komi Republic, Vladimir Uyba, also scheduled a meeting with local residents on the same date, only an hour earlier. He had called the activists protesting against the landfill "ecological garbage."

The Komi Ministry of Natural Resources announced the plant’s construction in Ezhva in December. Waste will be transported there for sorting from seven districts of the republic and Syktyvkar. According to the environmental activists, only 15% of the garbage will be sent for recycling, the rest of the waste will be taken to a landfill near the plant. They urged residents to file complaints with the Ministry of Natural Resources to prevent "the second Shies."

For the residents of the republic, who won the fight against the construction of a landfill for waste import from Moscow at the Shies Station only two years ago, this is a very painful topic. 7x7's correspondents found out how the waste reform, which began in Russia in 2019, continued against the background of military operations in Ukraine, and residents united in the fight against the authorities’ behind-the-scenes decisions.
