The play "The Princess and the Ogre" was suspected of LGBT propaganda because the princess was played by a man with a mustache. The work was reported to the Ministry of Culture, director Polina Kardymon said in her Telegram channel on November 13.
The Ministry of Culture of Novosibirsk Oblast decided to assemble an ethics committee because of the play "The Princess and the Ogre", in which the princess is played by a man. According to director Polina Kardymon, the scandal with the play "has reached the governor."
"I highly recommend the ethics committee to read about the Greek theater, in which men played female roles, to read about travesty, to remember that only male actors usually play the witch Baba Yaga in theaters," Kardymon wrote.
The director said that there was not a single actress in "The Princess and the Ogre", two main actors and their "clones" having played there. The performance is aimed at an audience of 6+.
