Shajin Lama (‘the supreme lama’) Telo Tulku Rinpoche spoke out against [the special operation] in Ukraine live on his YouTube channel. He called the events in the country "great suffering." Lama emigrated from Russia to Mongolia back in the summer. He spoke about his position on the Alkhimiya Dushi (‘alchemy of the soul’) Channel.
Telo Tulku Rinpoche believes that the events in Ukraine are great suffering, there is no need for this [special operation]. The lama said that "the Ukrainian side was defending its country, its land, its truth, its Constitution, its people."
"Moreover, we live in the 21st century. Everyone wants to live peacefully, calmly, every country wants to develop, no one wants to suffer," the lama said.
Telo Tulku Rinpoche emigrated from Russia to Mongolia after American basketball player Brittney Griner's arrest. The lama himself is a US citizen, although he worked in Kalmykia for 39 years.
