In Komi, 580 teachers joined the All-Russian project on environmental education of schoolchildren "Ecoclass". They give lessons, discussing the problems of water supply, separate collection of waste, conservation of forests and ecological way of life. Less than 20 thousand schoolchildren of the region have already attended classes. This information is reported in a press release of the environmental movement "ECA", which launched the project "Ecoclass".
The head of ECA, Tatiana Chestina, calls Ecoclass "the opportunity to easily engage in such an important matter as eco-education." All methodical materials for lessons are on the site in the public domain. They can be used by teachers, parents or eco-activists.
The ECA movement has been in Russia since 2010. It is an interregional environmental public organization that considers its mission to involve as many people as possible in reducing their personal ecological footprint. Among the areas of work — programs for environmental education, the formation of a culture of treatment with various types of waste, the protection of environmental rights of citizens and reforestation.
The экокласс.рф was launched in 2016 was aimed at environmental education of schoolchildren. More than 40,000 teachers from all regions of Russia and eight CIS countries have already registered and held eco-lessons. Over two years, more than two million schoolchildren took part in the lessons.
