On April 26, Valentin Konovalov, the head of Khakassia, suggested that Dmitry Ivanov, a local legislator killed in Ukraine, be posthumously awarded Hero of Russia title. Ivanov lost his life while fighting in Ukraine and is believed to have blown up a Ukrainian BMP during an attack by the AFU. Konovalov made the announcement through his Telegram channel.
On April 25, Valentin Konovalov, the head of Khakassia, announced the death of regional legislator Dmitry Ivanov, who left behind a wife and five children.
Ivanov was part of a group of four mercenaries, allegedly responsible for killing 30 Ukrainian soldiers, and is believed to have blown up a Ukrainian BMP during an attack by the AFU. Konovalov proposed that Ivanov be posthumously awarded Hero of Russia title, and a petition will be submitted to that effect.
According to the “We can explain” channel, a total of ten Russian elected officials from various regions, including Tyva, Buryatia, Bashkortostan, Novosibirsk, Arkhangelsk, Pskov, Rostov, and Ivanovo, lost their lives in Ukraine. Most of them represented the United Russia party in municipal assemblies and they had been mobilized or volunteered for military service. Dmitry Ivanov was the only regional legislator among them.
