On April 6, Governor Alexander Bogomaz reported a failed sabotage attempt by a group of 20 Ukrainian troopers. As he said, the invaders suffered a "gunfire defeat." On their Telegram channel, the Russian Volunteer Corps, which had assumed responsibility for the raid on March 2, accused Bogomaz of lying.

Alexander Bogomaz, the head of the Bryansk region, announced that the "enemy" had been successfully targeted by fire during an attempted raid near the village of Sluchovsk in the Pogarsky district. Prior to Bogomaz's statement, the Russian Volunteer Corps had conducted a poll about the likelihood of them entering the Bryansk region.

Following the incident, the Russian Volunteer Corps military disputed the Bryansk governor's claims, alleging that they had indeed crossed the border, interacted with local residents, and distributed leaflets about the ongoing struggle against the Putin regime. The RDK channel aired a video allegedly recorded in the village.

On March 2, saboteurs entered the villages of Lyubechane and Sushany in the Bryansk region, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, according to Russian officials. The Russian Volunteer Corps, a Ukrainian fighting force, claimed responsibility for the attack. The Ukrainian authorities dismissed the information about the incident as a "classic provocation."
