Syktyvkar City Court sent Nikita Tushkanov, a former teacher from Komi, to a detention center. The investigation suspects him of justifying terrorism (Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) because of several comments on vk.com about blowing up the Crimean Bridge. A Telegram channel supporting Nikita Tushkanov reported this on December 8.

The hearing was held behind closed doors. The court sent Nikita Tushkanov to a detention center until February 5. The investigator petitioned for the arrest of the ex-teacher from Komi.

Tushkanov became a defendant in a criminal case on the justification of terrorism (Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to the investigators, in October, he left several comments under a post on vk.com with the news about blowing up the Crimean Bridge. Nikita Tushkanov may face up to seven years in prison.

This is the first known criminal case for justifying blowing up the Crimean Bridge in the country.

Tushkanov was fired from school in 2021 after a picket in defense of freedom of speech. In April, the police drew up four protocols against him for posts on social networks: for petty hooliganism, for demonstrating Nazi symbols, and twice, for discrediting the military.
