The administrator of a Telegram channel announced fundraising for Tatyana Novikova in the afternoon of October 14. The woman had to raise 30 thousand rubles to pay a fine for anti-war comments. After 2.5 hours, the required amount was raised. This is stated in the Bletgorod Telegram channel.
In July, the Oktyabrsky District Court found Tatyana Novikova, an ex-teacher of Belgorod State University’s National Research University, guilty under the article on discrediting the military. She was fined 30 thousand rubles. Russian Language and Literature Department's ex-teacher left comments in the Shchebekino's Whisper Community in March. As Novikova explained, she joined the discussion to stand up for a young woman, criticized by other commentators for a picket with a poster "No [special operation]."
In early June, Novikova was called to a meeting at Belgorod State University, where the professor was "denounced and crucified in the style of the 37th year." The next day, she was fired for "immoral behavior incompatible with professional activity" due to the comments on social networks.
Russians, thanks to human rights advocates and activists, had raised 200 thousand rubles for journalist Elena Shukaeva from Ural to pay fines for discrediting the military within 3.5 hours.
30 thousand rubles were collected for activist of Shies Vladimir from Kotlas within the same time. In early June, the court fined Vladimir for discrediting the military. He left comments back in March, but the Department for Countering Extremism’s employees came to the activist’s office only on June 7 and took him to the police station to draw up a protocol. Vladimir was denied an independent linguistic examination because the police conducted their own examination and provided it to the court.
