The Oktyabrsky District Court of Kirov fined Vadim Ananyin, the head of the People's Freedom Party's local branch, for 5 thousand rubles for holding an uncoordinated action on the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions. The activist was held administratively liable under Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (Violating the Established Procedure for Arranging or Conducting a Meeting, Rally, Demonstration, Procession or Picket). Ananyin himself told 7x7 about this.

The activist held the Prayer of Memory Action in a square near the drama theater on October 29. The Kirov Administration did not negotiate the picket, referring to the sanitary and epidemiological conditions in the city and to the fact that the picketers would disrupt the performances. A few days later, a report was drawn up against Ananyin for violating the procedure for conducting a rally.

"I never regretted having held the action. I knew that there would be persecution from the state where exactly the same chekists who had carried out state terror under the Soviet regime were in power," Vadim Ananyin said in his Telegram channel before the trial.

The activist told 7x7 that he was going to take review against the judgement.
