Supporters of the Libertarian Party held two one-person pickets in support of Russian political prisoners and defendants in the "Moscow case" in Smolensk on September 29, reported the correspondent of "7x7".
Secretary of the Smolensk regional office of the Libertarian Party of Russia (LPR) Nikita Prokopenkov picketed at the monument to Nikolay Krylenko in the square on Kommunisticheskaya street. Half an hour later, he was replaced by supporter of the party Samad Alipkhachev. Young people held posters "The state wants you to be imprisoned. Today, there are 55 political prisoners in Russia."
— We are here to express solidarity with political prisoners and to inform people that similar can happen not only in Moscow and not only to public people like Pavel Ustinov, but also to absolutely anyone in Russia, - organizer of an action Nikita Prokopenkov explained. — In the future, we would like to overcome political apathy in Smolensk and spread the idea that the political situation affects their standard of living directly.
A coordinated rally, which was organized by the Libertarian Party, was held by several thousand people in Sakharov Avenue in Moscow on September 29. The participants demanded the release of the defendants in the "Moscow case" and all political prisoners.
On July 27, a protest rally was held in Moscow in support of candidates, who were not allowed to take part in the elections to the Moscow City Duma. Thousands of people were in the streets of Moscow that day. During the event, the police detained 1373 people, several dozen people were beaten. After the protests, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on "mass riots". Some of the accused received real sentences for rioting and violence against the authorities.
