The Russian Children's Centre Orlyonok has ordered weapons to shoot down drones, as reported by the 'Voice of Kuban' media outlet on April 2.

The center spent 1.6 million rubles on two mobile anti-drone devices. According to the tender documentation, the weapons have an operating diameter of 500 meters.

The winner of the tender has not been disclosed.

In May 2023, drones attacked the city center of Krasnodar, causing damage to several buildings. The Kuban operational headquarters characterized the impact as a 'clap' – the term commonly used by Russian authorities as a euphemism for explosions. Three months later, Dmitry Gusev, a State Duma deputy for Krasnodar Krai, suggested teaching school security guards to shoot down drones.
