Zabaykalsky Krai authorities are checking information on the alleged death of 65 conscripts in a missile strike, as reported by Z-channels in the morning of February 21.

Mobilized soldiers from the 36th Guards Motor Rifle Brigade were purportedly killed in the Trudovskoye settlement of Donetsk Oblast. They lined up ahead of the arrival of Commander Oleg Moiseyev when a missile strike occurred. Z-bloggers and government-affiliated war correspondents published videos from the scene and photos of deceased military personnel.

The Telegram channel 'Voenny Osvedomitel' ('Military Informant') claims that Ukrainian Armed Forces used three GMLRS missiles. Z-channels attributed the incident to commanders who decided to conduct the lineup. Ukrainian officials have not commented on the strike.

Representatives of the Zabaykalsky Krai government announced that they are checking information on the conscripts’ deaths and that Governor Alexander Osipov is 'in touch' with the Ministry of Defense. The officials warned residents of potential consequences for spreading unverified messages. Osipov, however, has commissioned government leaders to visit the relatives of deceased recruits to provide assistance.
