Ivan Frolov, a 20-year-old conscript from Novosibirsk, lost his life in a shelling incident on the Crimean border. Ivan was due to be released from service in October. The news was reported by the “Moskovsky Komsomolets” publication on October 9th.

Ivan Frolov was scheduled to return home in October. He served in a unit stationed along the Crimean border and was caught in a crossfire. Suffering a head injury, Ivan fell into a coma from which he never recovered. He was laid to rest on October 8th.

The news of Ivan's death was reported by “Moskovsky Komsomolets,” referring to the school Ivan had graduated from as the source of information. The post about the conscript has since been removed but his photograph remains on the school's VKontakte group.

At least 11 conscripts have lost their lives on the border with Ukraine prior to Ivan Frolov’s death. The majority of them were caught in hostile fire in the Belgorod region. Their duties included constructing trenches, fortifying dugouts, combating aerial drones, and patrolling the border along with border guards.
