12 children were injured in an accident involving the car of Saisana Tovuu, former Children's Ombudsman of Tyva. This was reported by the SHOT telegram channel on April 18. Tovuu's husband, a justice of the peace, is suspected to be driving the car at the time of the accident.

On April 14, an accident occurred in the Kyzyl district, where a Toyota Camry veered into the opposite lane and collided with a school bus. The driver fled the scene, while the children were hospitalized, according to police reports.

The SHOT Channel, an affiliate of the law enforcement agencies, revealed that the Toyota was owned by Saizana Tovuu, the former Commissioner for Children's Rights in Tyva, with her husband suspected to have been driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. The driver was later detained by the police.

Tovuu had resigned from her position following a scandal involving the rape of a 10-year-old boy by high school students at a rural school. Some local residents claimed that authorities tried to cover up the incident due to the high-ranking parents of the accused rapists.
