A large part of the 1439th regiment of Irkutsk may have been destroyed. This regiment had three times complained to Putin about violence from the DNR brigade and being forced to go on assault missions. Sibir. Realii reported the regiment’s situation on March 3.

The wife of one of the mobilized soldiers stated that "almost nothing was left" of the regiment. She received a call from her husband, who was in the hospital and said that only two wounded soldiers were known, and the others were "either dead or abandoned there in a grave situation."

The woman fears that her husband will only have a week to recover before being sent back to the "front line" again.

The soldiers had recorded two videos to Vladimir Putin in February 2023, requesting to be transferred from the assault troops back to the support groups. The regiment's deputy commander was allegedly detained after trying to explain that the mobilized men lacked the skills of stormtroopers. His current whereabouts are unknown. The command allegedly called them "expendable material" and told them to "go and die."

Governor Igor Kobzev's promise to transfer them to a new place of service has never materialized.

They made a third appeal at the end of February, but were allegedly sent to attack a fortified area. On March 3, officials from the regional administration visited the mobilized soldiers.
