The Oktyabrsky District Court of Izhevsk fined local resident Maria Poroshina for participating in a picket on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which was held on November 25. Poroshina was found guilty of violating the established procedure for holding a rally under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. The activist told the correspondent of 7x7 about it.

The court hearing was held on January 19. The court fined Maria Poroshina for 5 thousand rubles for violating the established procedure for holding a rally. The young woman told 7x7 that she had not yet decided whether to challenge this decision.

Before the hearing, court marshals detained Natalia Skryabina, Poroshina's acquaintance who came to support her in court. According to the OVD-Info Web Portal, court marshals did not allow listeners to attend the hearing, referring to the restrictions during the coronavirus pandemic. An administrative offense report for failure to comply with the legal requirements of a court marshal was drawn up against the young woman.
