The community of specialists in three-dimensional printing organized a fundraiser for the production of personal protective equipment for doctors. It will be transferred to "covid" hospitals free of charge. Purchasing printing C&E materials and shipping products to doctors require 350 thousand rubles. The fundraiser was opened on the Boomstarter Crowdfunding Platform. The project’s organizers told 7x7 about it.

According to the organizers, during the first wave of coronavirus, they raised enough money for making 170 thousand medical devices. The project’s participants calculate that 40% of state hospitals and 6% of Russian doctors received the aid.

Volunteers use a 3D printer to print protective face covers, adapters, and interfaces including incubation boxes, which are transparent plastic cubes that are necessary to protect doctors when they are putting a tube into the patient's trachea for artificial lung ventilation.

In total, the community of 3D printers has 2.5 thousand participants from 71 regions of Russia.
