On June 23, the court in Kotlas, Arkhangelsk Oblast, fined eco-activist Oksana Gruzd (Sana Brilevich), protesting against the landfill construction, for 5 thousand rubles. This information was confirmed on June 24 by lawyer Alexey Kuroptev.

As Kuroptev said, Gruzd was fined under Part 1 of Article 20.2.2 of the Code of administrative offenses, concerning disturbance of public peace during meeting and rallies.

Gruzd was punished for conflicts that took place on May 27, when there were confrontations with activists on the one side, and police and the private security company on the other. She was one of three victims who needed medical aid after the conflict. According to activist Ivan Ivanov, Gruzd received a closed craniocerebral injury and a broken rib after the employees of the private security company had thrown her onto a concrete slab.


In the summer of 2018, construction works began near railway station Shies — Moscow company Technopark created a site to build a landfill for Moscow and Moscow Oblast. In December 2018, residents of Arkhangelsk Oblast and the Republic of Komi organized a protest camp near the railway station and tried to prevent the construction of the landfill.
