On January 23, activists of the "Open Russia" in Tver held a picket against the arrest of a member of the federal council of the movement Anastasia Shevchenko.

The picket was held on the central pedestrian street. Nobody was detained during the picket.

"The activist of the Open Russia Anastasia Shevchenko was placed under house arrest for 1 month and 25 days. We went out into the street to tell people about what was going on in our "justice system" and also to express our protest," activists wrote in the group.


Anastasia Shevchenko is accused under Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code ("The implementation of activities of the organization declared as undesirable on the Russian federation territory"). The maximum penalty for the article is six years in prison. On January 23, the Leninsky court of Rostov-on-Don sent the activist under house arrest until March 20, 2019. "Open Russia" was declared as undesirable in April 2017.
