Writer and blogger of «7x7» Revolt Pimenov was detained in St. Petersburg on June 12 during an anti-corruption rally on the Field of Mars.

According to volunteer of the help group of detainees Natalia Voznesenskaya, Pimenov was detained at 14:00 one of the first when he shouted 'Shame! Shame!' along with other demonstrators. He was taken to the police station.

The court sentenced Revolt Pimenov to five days' imprisonment and a fine of 10,000 rubles. The term of serving the sentence ends on June 17. He was transferred to a temporary detention center. There were 128 detainees during the rally.

One of the detainees during the rally Ekaterina Prokopovich, who was in the same detention facility as Pimenov, reported that the registration was still ongoing. The woman managed to publish photos of the conditions on VKontakte.

St. Petersburg journalist Andrei Kalikh, also detained during the rally, reported that the trials of those who got into the police started late, and the verdicts were virtually identical.

In total, 638 people were detained during the rally in St. Petersburg.


Rallies against corruption, initiated by the headquarters of the opposition politician Alexei Navalny, were held on June 12 in Russia Day, almost in two hundred cities of Russia.
