Brother of the opposition politician Oleg Navalny, serving a sentence in the correctional colony No. 5 in the Oryol region, was appointed a long-term meeting for the first time in nine months, Alexey Navalny reported on meeting with his brother on Twitter on March 13.
Oleg and Alexey Navalny were found guilty of fraud in making transport contracts with the company Yves Rocher; on December 30, 2014 the court sentenced Oleg to 3.5 years in a general-regime colony. Alexey Navalny was sentenced on probation for the same term.
On February 27, 2017, prisoner Oleg Navalny applied for parole, but the Uritsky district court of the Oryol region did not consider this expedient.
