According to the judicial representative of the Muslim religious community Dmitry Volnukhin, Kostroma authorities gave permission for the completion of the construction of the mosque after the public scandal.
Trouble of the Kostroma Muslims began in late 2014, when addressing city officials for the extension of a permit for construction of the mosque they were faced with the fact that the officials refused to issue the documents without commenting. At the same time, representatives of the controlling bodies have started to monitor the construction site and to penalize the community for its work without permission.
When the waiting time for the permission exceeded six months instead of one month, and the amount of fines imposed by inspectors reached 100 thousand rubles, the Muslim community filed a claim to recognize idleness of officials illegal and notified media about the trial. Public scandal has forced the authorities to reconsider their attitude to work.
“Permit for the construction of the mosque was extended. Thanks to your material. Today we were issued a document,” Dmitry Volnukhin told to "7x7".
Now the plaintiffs are going to come to the Sverdlovsk District Court of Kostroma and withdraw a lawsuit against the city administration - due to voluntary satisfaction of the requirements of the respondent. The court session on the issue of the completion of the mosque will be held on 29 June.
